The weather was warm with just a little wind to texture the water surface. The water is pretty cold and salty compared to the usual fresh and warmer water venues for wakeboard contests. Most still trunked it or just wore a spring suit; sticking to whatever they are used to.
Tara Hamilton came into the event top rated and took top honors in the women's. She was followed by a strong showing by young Dallas Friday with Maeghan Major placing 3rd.
Darin Shapiro redeemed himself. After falling on a skeezer and missing a speedball on the doulbleup last year; this year he pulled those, an s-bend, an orbital, whirly bird, and more to take home Xgold. Shaun Murray fell on his doubleup after a great run to take 2nd palce honors and Shane Bonifay (Parks brother) came in 3rd standing up through a consistant run. Brett Eisenhauer (4th place) had a strong pull but did not get the nod for the podium from the judges. Politics bro :-(
