Winter decided to finally vistit the Tahoe region at the end of January. By the middle of February and 8- 15 of fresh snow later things started to look pretty good aound here. It did rain a bit near the end of the latest storm cycles and then we had 100 mph winds the day before it cleared up to make for epic Tuesday. At least that was how it billed, the reality was the the high winds laid down some nice wind buff, but it also blew away the fresh snow at all exposed areas down to the ice layer (remember that rain). The riding on the wind buff under a clear sky was nice but there plenty of scary stories about icy encounters. When it was clear not any more lifts on the upper mountain were going to open, we decided to build a kicker into some deep soft snow to extend our fun into the afternoon.
