Legends Pool |

Legends are a unique part of the human experience. Many different legends exist about everything you could imagine. Bigfoot, the abominable snowman, and the boogie-monster are just one facet; monsters. But seriously, all legends are based on some sort of truth. Everyone has a certain skater in their hometown that has gained a legendary status. They usually achieved this though allot of blood, sweat, and boards. A huge gap here, a fat kickslip there, or just the style of the person in general. This perceived persona bleeds into the future and made-up misinformation usually finds it's way into this stream. A legend is something to be honored, revered, and respected. One such legend is a pool located in Incline Village Nevada on beautiful Lake Tahoe. Even the lake has a few legends. One such legend is about a sea monster nicknamed Tahoe Tessie. Rumored to be of the same type as the loch ness monster. Legends pile up over sightings, bumped boats, and missing persons. But this pool in Incline is more than a legend, it is a fact. Proven through photographic proof, pool dust, and blood. An eight foot deep square with 2 rideable corners, 4 feet of vert, and gorgeous cement coping. But legends do exist about the lines that have been done there. A pivot by Eric Tervo, a huge b-side air by Chad Shettler, and carve over the stairs by Jeff Petit. These are just legends as there is no photographic proof. Proof; that is what separates fact from legend. Photography has taken on the burden of Proof. So with this photographic evidence, the fact is that it does exist and it has been sessioned. So if you are in the Tahoe area and want proof legends exist, head to Incline Village and try to ride a legend of own. Live long and skate. Ari Evan Gold P.S. Where in Incline is the pool located? |
