The east wind was blowing briskly which packed the snow into a fast windbuff texture and also slowed the decent of the talented bunch of riders that charged this rarely open extreme pitch. This kind of wind also makes getting air born a lot harder as it blows up the hill and plays with any huckers skis and even more with snowboards, so most choose lines that kept themselves on or near the surface of this super steep exposed slope. It is amazing how good these people are; of the 40 or 50 descents that I saw, nobody got hurt and only 2 or 3 fell after clearing all of the exposure. |
