Snow Sports Action from the Mountain to Your Computer

It is interesting how the best days have come in patterns this season. The early season had good days on the Mondays, Wednesdays, and the weekends. 1999 started with a short dry spell; but when winter came back it really poured it on. We had big Wednesdays and fantastic Fridays in mid-winter.
Thursday March 4th was pretty special on the upper mountain. Maybe Thursday the March 11th will be the best day of next week if the pattern holds.

Granite Chief was uncrowded and had wintery snow. Palisades tempted many adventurers with heavenly windbuff.

Groove Tube; "You are so Busted!"

Word from the ski patrol "If you guys will refrain from poaching closed areas, we (the patrol) will try to open up more. Like the Chimney, Smoothy, and the new gate in Silverado." As this guy made his descent of the "Groove Tube", I overheard "You are so busted" from one ski patroller to another as they skated off after him. Hopefully we will still get some more Chimney action this year!
