Tahoe Boarders and Skiers Score on the Early October Snow

The first day at Alpine Meadows was fun (pictured below left); really fun for October 9th. There was more snowy foggy riding to be had on that Friday but I was busy writing the story about the 1st day and other responsibilities. Saturday morning found Steve Price, Noha ,Johny, several of the Red-i crew, the core of the Boards in Motion gang and myself up near the summit of Mnt. Rose. We were all enjoying the little bit fresh on top of the low tide base of crust on a beautiful bluebird day (see center images). Last night at the "Harvest" premier I over heard stories of sessions that went down that weekend at Sugar Bowl, Alpine, and Squaw Valley even. I'm sure there were many more early fun stories that I did not get wind of. Session #3 (for me) went down on Sunday afternoon. The weather had returned to normal for the season; except there was some snow to slide on. So, Steve Price, myself, and a small crew hiked up Kangaroo at Alpine Meadows for some warm afternoon fun (bottom images). There was still snow left on Monday and Tuesday, but by midweek the warm weather had melted all of the easy to access snow. Now there is only patches of snow up on the north faces of the highest peaks. Does this early snow mean that this could be one heck of a year. Could BE?
